Bubala to launch third London location in King’s Cross

The popular Middle Eastern vegetarian restaurant will open its new venue in April 2025, featuring an outdoor terrace and an innovative menu.

Vegetarian restaurant Bubala is poised to open its third London location in King’s Cross in April 2025. Founded by Marc Summers, Bubala made its debut in 2019 as a Middle Eastern restaurant pop-up in Spitalfields, marking a significant entry into the city’s diverse food scene. Following this initial success, the establishment expanded into a second permanent site in Soho in 2021.

The new King’s Cross venue will showcase Bubala’s renowned bold and inventive flavours within a striking two-floor layout, featuring an expansive outdoor terrace – a first for the restaurant. The design concept marries grand architectural elements with the restaurant’s signature warmth, creating an inviting dining experience that resonates with both familiarity and freshness.

Executive Chef Ben Rand, alongside Marc Summers, has meticulously crafted a menu that not only includes beloved dishes that patrons have come to cherish but also introduces new culinary innovations.

This latest venue will accommodate 65 diners on the ground floor and an additional 25 diners upstairs, with 30 alfresco seats available on the terrace. A key highlight of the restaurant will be its open kitchen, equipped with a wood-fired oven and charcoal grill, designed to immerse diners in the vibrant kitchen atmosphere. In a novel twist on traditional restaurant configurations, the backless bar will face the dining area, fostering a communal and engaging vibe.

Expressing enthusiasm about the new location, Marc Summers stated, “We’re thrilled to bring Bubala to King’s Cross and to continue expanding our vision of accessible and exciting vegetarian Middle Eastern inspired cuisine. This new location is a perfect blend of the energy of the area and the welcoming atmosphere we’ve cultivated at our other restaurants. We can’t wait to share it with our guests.”

As Bubala continues to grow, its commitment to innovative vegetarian fare and a lively dining experience remains at the forefront of its mission, catering to the ever-evolving tastes of Londoners.
