Coronation Street teases potential romantic turn between Carla and Lisa

The storyline hints at a significant shift in the relationship between Carla and Lisa, as their bond deepens amid personal struggles and shared support.

Coronation Street Teases Potential Romantic Turn Between Carla and Lisa

Coronation Street has hinted at a significant development in the storyline between Carla Connor, played by Alison King, and DS Lisa Swain, portrayed by Vicky Myers. The two characters, who have built a solid friendship over recent months, are about to share a tender moment that could mark a shift in their relationship.

Carla and Lisa’s bond began to deepen after Carla supported Lisa through the grief of losing her wife, Becky. This emotional connection saw Lisa reciprocating the support when Carla faced her own challenges. Carla is currently facing charges of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) after deliberately knocking a young boy off his bike and fleeing the scene earlier this year.

The plot thickens as Carla goes to court and encounters Tom, the angered father of the boy involved in the accident. According to Alison King, the actress behind Carla, the courtroom encounter takes a dramatic turn as Tom follows Carla back to the factory and confronts her aggressively. ‘She tells everyone to go home, but then this lunatic appears, raising his voice threateningly,’ King explained. ‘Carla goes into fight or flight mode, but Lisa arrives just in time, leaving Carla visibly shaken.’

Following this episode, Lisa visits Carla to check on her well-being. King revealed, ‘Carla is in shock and very much in the moment. Lisa’s visit means a lot to her. Their growing friendship is built on shared experiences and mutual support, especially with Carla’s understanding of Lisa’s struggles with her daughter, Betsy Swain, played by Sydney Martin.’

This growing bond between the two characters is nuanced by their personal histories of loss and hardship. ‘It’s been a long time since Carla has had a close female friend,’ King noted. ‘Lisa is a powerhouse, leaning on Carla while also offering her strength. This balance of vulnerability and support is new for Carla.’

As the narrative unfolds, Carla and Lisa share an intimate moment that leaves Carla questioning her feelings. The tender interaction is described as electrifying, prompting Carla to reflect on their burgeoning relationship. Alison King left fans questioning, ‘Does Lisa feel the same way?’

The storyline promises to delve deeper into this evolving dynamic, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating where Carla and Lisa’s relationship might lead. While the characters’ friendship has provided emotional support for both, this potential romantic twist adds a new layer of intrigue to their journey.
