Marks & Spencer celebrates 20 years of gastropub range with celebrity chef collaboration

In a landmark anniversary, Marks & Spencer teams up with celebrity chef Tom Kerridge to refresh its famous gastropub range with innovative dishes and restaurant-quality offerings.

Marks & Spencer Celebrates 20 Years of Gastropub Range with Celebrity Chef Collaboration

London, UK – 2023: High street retailer Marks & Spencer has introduced a new range of items to its renowned Gastropub dine-in deal, in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The addition, curated by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, offers an array of exclusive and innovative dishes, praised by customers for their ‘restaurant quality’.

The Gastropub deal, a favourite among M&S shoppers, offers a main and a side, plus a starter or dessert for two people for £15. The newly revamped menu includes a selection of dishes crafted to the high standards customers expect from the brand.

Tom Kerridge, a prominent figure in the culinary world, has spent two years working closely with M&S’s team and its suppliers to create the new dishes. The process saw over 160 different pie recipes developed before Kerridge settled on the final selection. His creations merge classic comfort food with modern culinary twists, using top-quality British ingredients.

Among the new offerings are the British Beef Pie, made with beef mince and shin slow-cooked in rich gravy, encased in pastry, and topped with crispy beef scratchings (£7). Another is the British Chicken Curry Pie, featuring spiced oven-roasted British chicken in a creamy sauce with toasted coconut, enclosed in pastry and topped with crispy chicken scratchings (£7).

The menu also boasts British Beef Cheeks slow-cooked in a red wine sauce with herby dumplings and star anise-glazed carrots (£12), Lentil Cottage Pie (£6), and Slow Cooked Lamb marinated in aromatic spices with harissa, apricot, and chickpeas (£12).

Dessert options include a Treacle Tart for two (£5) and Molten Cookie Dough (£5.25). For starters, there’s a Pork Pāté made with pork liver, pork belly, and bacon, enhanced with roasted mushrooms and green peppercorns, and topped with a roast chicken stock glaze (£6.50).

M&S’s Product Development Manager, Marie Ford, expressed excitement about the collaboration and the new offerings. “Gastropub was our first restaurant-quality range, so it feels fitting that it’s become Tom’s first retail collaboration too. The new and revamped recipes in our Gastropub range really are market-leading,” she said.

In addition to Kerridge’s new recipes, the entire Gastropub range has undergone a significant refresh, featuring 25 revamped recipes and over 20 new additions. These ready meals are available in M&S Foodhalls and online via Ocado, providing a convenient way for shoppers to enjoy high-quality, homemade-style meals.

This gastronomic update follows M&S’s recent launch of a new chip shop deal, priced at £10. This package includes one main and two sides for two people, featuring traditional chip shop favourites such as fishcake, cod, haddock, and scampi. The sides range from frites to buttery mashed potatoes, maintaining the brand’s commitment to quality and variety.

Marks & Spencer’s continuous innovation in their food offerings demonstrates their dedication to providing customers with convenient, high-quality dining options. Tom Kerridge’s involvement adds an extra layer of prestige and culinary style, marking a significant milestone in the history of the M&S Gastropub range.
