The Much-Anticipated Restaurant Openings in London This October 2024

London’s culinary scene is set to expand impressively this October, with several renowned chefs and restaurateurs unveiling new establishments across the city. Among them are openings from notable names such as Santiago Lastra, Jason Atherton, and Chris Denney, promising an array of diverse and exciting dining experiences. Here are the key details of the new restaurant ventures to look forward to this month.

Mayfair – Fonda

Opening Date: 3 October 2024
Location: 12 Heddon St, London W1B 4BZ
Chef: Santiago Lastra

Santiago Lastra, the chef behind the acclaimed Kol, is debuting his second venture in Mayfair. Fonda promises a more relaxed atmosphere compared to Kol, offering “Contemporary Mexican” cuisine inspired by nostalgic dishes from Lastra’s childhood. Highlights include quesadillas with Oaxaca cheese and Wiltshire black truffle, lobster al pastor tacos, and confit pork shoulder carnitas. The dessert menu features a trending rice pudding, while the drinks list boasts Paloma cocktails, including a unique Champagne Paloma.

Chelsea – Three Darlings

Opening Date: 24 October 2024
Location: 241b Pavilion Road, London SW1X 0PB
Chef: Jason Atherton

Jason Atherton is set to launch Three Darlings, named in honour of his three daughters. This neighbourhood bistro will serve “modern English cuisine with European influences”. Although the menu has yet to be fully revealed, some early sneak peeks include a smoked brisket duck egg and a mango, strawberry, and vanilla sundae. This opening marks the second of three new projects for Atherton within three months, consolidating his prolific career.

Chelsea – Fantomas

Opening Date: October 2024 (exact date TBC)
Location: 300 King’s Road, London SW3 5UH
Chef: Chris Denney

Chris Denney, known for 108 Garage and Fiend, is introducing Fantomas in Chelsea. Partnering with the group behind Lita and Wild, Fantomas will take over the former Chelsea 28-50 site, offering a “modern European” menu with distinctive Denney touches. Expect dishes such as Iberico belly with quince, lime, and jalapeno, and inventive cocktails like a Pandan ice tea with coconut oil-washed rum.

Vauxhall – Pario

Opening Date: 8 October 2024
Location: 9 Newport St, London SE11 6AJ
Chefs: Charlie Bryant and George Browne

Pario is set to occupy the space inside Damien Hirst’s gallery, previously home to Pharmacy 2. Spearheaded by Charlie Bryant and George Browne, Pario will focus on local produce to create “super tasty food which isn’t messed with”. The menu includes barbecued Cornish native lobster tail with tempura claws and milk ice cream affogato. With Charlie’s successful pop-up appearances, Pario is anticipated to be a hit in Vauxhall.

Belgravia – Sachi, Amélie, and LUUM

Opening Dates: SACHI on 26 October 2024, Amélie on 28 October, LUUM on 31 October
Location: 19 Motcomb St, London SW1X 8LB

The Pantechnicon building in Belgravia is undergoing a significant transformation. Kappo-Japanese restaurant Sachi is relocating to the second floor and rooftop area. Amélie, a Provençale restaurant from the creators behind METT Marbella, will make its debut, expected to impress based on its preceding success. Additionally, the basement will host LUUM, a new cocktail bar with live acts. This renovation marks a fresh chapter for the Pantechnicon.

Covent Garden – Delamina Townhouse

Opening Date: 28 October 2024
Location: 13-15 Tavistock Street, London WC2E 7PS

Delamina Townhouse will open in Covent Garden, offering Eastern Mediterranean cuisine in a Grade II listed building. Known for its successful locations in Marylebone and Shoreditch, Delamina will feature dishes such as Arak-cured sea trout and za’atar-marinated seafood on the plancha. The historic building promises a labyrinthine layout with ample private dining options.

Battersea – Tamila

Opening Date: 1 October 2024
Location: 39 Northcote Rd, London SW11 1NJ

From the team behind The Tamil Prince and The Tamil Crown comes Tamila in Battersea. Marking their first standalone restaurant, Tamila will focus on South Indian cuisine with new dishes unique to Battersea, including more varieties of bread and Masala Poori, a wheat flour fried bread served with potato masala and coconut chutney.

Additional Anticipated Openings

Yari Club (Covent Garden): A yakitori restaurant with robot-cooked skewers.
Lima (Shoreditch): Latest Peruvian restaurant inside Shoreditch’s Sun Street Hotel.
Lina Stores (Shoreditch): New Italian restaurant and deli with a separate Bar Lina.
Motcombs (St John’s Wood): The Belgravia restaurant expands after 40 years.
Claro (St James): A Mediterranean restaurant replacing Villandry.

London’s dynamic culinary landscape continues to evolve, offering residents and visitors an expansive array of new dining experiences to explore throughout October 2024.
